Weekly update #4

Dear parents/carers I hope this message finds you well. What an interesting week it has been. Last night, watching Her Majesty the Queen addressing the nation reminded me of our Scout promise – I promise that I will do my best to do my duty…to The Queen. So, continuing to stay at home I am. Simple! Staying at home doesn’t have to be that terrible as we can all carry on Scouting and again, I’m so impressed with the Scouting that has been going on remotely. This week, I’ve seen aeroplanes of all shapes, sizes, designs and air worthiness! There’s been junk modelling (a beautiful NHS staff member caring for a patient – check out our Facebook page for that […]

Weekly update #3 Dear parents/carers Another week passes and I continue to be amazed at the efforts and attitude of our members as we progress through these challenging times. Firstly, I was so humbled with the response from last week’s email. This has included germ experiments, games and even an online troop meeting for the Scouts last Friday. Well done everyone, I hope you’ve been enjoying remote scouting as best you can and keep up the great work. We’re still working hard to build up a bank of activities and sections will […]

Remembrance 2019

This year’s Remembrance parade and service will be on Sunday 10th November. Meet at the Leas Cliff Hall at 10.20am in full and smart uniform. Dress warmly. This is the one single event that we expect all members to turn out to. Please note the finishing point is left of the Town Hall  (the cinema) in Guildhall Street, towards the main road (depending on where we are in the parade order!) – parents are warmly invited to remain with us for the duration of the event – please stand with the general public, not with us in the parade. Tell us you’re coming via the Parent Portal email link. Information from the District Clothing If the weather is wet then dark coloured overcoats should be worn.  If […]
