Remembrance 2019

This year’s Remembrance parade and service will be on Sunday 10th November. Meet at the Leas Cliff Hall at 10.20am in full and smart uniform. Dress warmly. This is the one single event that we expect all members to turn out to. Please note the finishing point is left of the Town Hall  (the cinema) in Guildhall Street, towards the main road (depending on where we are in the parade order!) – parents are warmly invited to remain with us for the duration of the event – please stand with the general public, not with us in the parade. Naitonal Volunteers Week 2019

It’s National Volunteers week! We just want to say a massive thank you to all our volunteers – not just the uniformed leaders or the Executive Committee members, but also to all the parents that help out on trips and adventures away from the HQ or lend a hand at section meetings when we need it. Without you all, Scouting could not exist! THANK YOU. INVITE FOR PARENTS Join us for a cream tea and plenty of tea and coffee while we celebrate the fantastic work of our amazing Group and the achievements of our members over the past year. Lasting Memories – Community art and heritage project

Lasting Memories is a community art and heritage project centered around the creation of seven giant beach poppies on the beaches of Folkestone at the end of June 2019. The project will commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the ‘Treaty of Versailles’ which marked the peace in Europe following the end of WW1. The poppies will represent the seven months between the Armistice of WW1 and the eventual peace on 28th June 1919 with seven themed stories that impacted the local community during this time. 11th Folkestone Scouts will be joining in with a pebble painting workshop on 11th June 2019, after the Awards evening.
