For every minute it takes for the defibrillator to reach someone in need and deliver a shock, their chances of survival reduce by up to 10%. To help someone who is in cardiac arrest effectively, a defibrillator needs to be found as quickly as possible. In conjunction with the AED available at Folkestone Fire Station 9 minutes away), we could increase the ‘coverage net’ for AEDs in our community and Ward. We plan to play our part and make sure a lifesaving defibrillator is available should anyone in our community need it. This year’s Remembrance parade and service will be on Sunday 10th November. Meet at the Leas Cliff Hall at 10.20am in full and smart uniform. Dress warmly. This is the one single event that we expect all members to turn out to. Please note the finishing point is left of the Town Hall  (the cinema) in Guildhall Street, towards the main road (depending on where we are in the parade order!) – parents are warmly invited to remain with us for the duration of the event – please stand with the general public, not with us in the parade. Join us for ‘an evening at the races’ Join us for an action packed evening of chance and fun on Saturday 12th October at the Shepway Close Centre. All are welcome – bring the whole family – enjoy the fun and thrill of picking the winning horse, having a flutter and you never know, you could win big! This charity event is in support of 11th Folkestone Scouts, helping the Group to continue to provide excellent programmes and helping young people gain Skills for Life.
