Naitonal Volunteers Week 2019

It’s National Volunteers week! We just want to say a massive thank you to all our volunteers – not just the uniformed leaders or the Executive Committee members, but also to all the parents that help out on trips and adventures away from the HQ or lend a hand at section meetings when we need it. Without you all, Scouting could not exist! THANK YOU. Every now and again a young person will be really surprised to find out we Scouting volunteers have a day job – “I thought this was your job!” is not an uncommon sentence to hear from them (and sometimes their parents!), but we are all volunteers, no financial reward, just doing it for the reward […]

Lasting Memories – Community art and heritage project

Lasting Memories is a community art and heritage project centered around the creation of seven giant beach poppies on the beaches of Folkestone at the end of June 2019. All members from all sections and their parents/families are invited to join in with this […]

Still can’t decide, so we’ll see where this blog post takes us! Hold on to your hats!! 🙂 (Now I’ve finished one section, it’s quite long, so for ease, I’ve colour coded the important part blue. The rest is my excited waffle if you’ve got time) Building the future Steve (Group Chair) and I met with Dan, our chosen builder, last week to finalise what we want with the building work at the hall. All very exciting and this summer we will definitely be going ahead with the project. This will give us a […]
